how did you make the decision to start bates hori?
ever since cranbrook, it was always an imperative to create for myself a similar kind of environment in which to do work. spending a few years in corporate design positions and branding agencies proved a bit too frustrating for anything long-term, which fueled even more the need to create bates hori, and now a fertile partnership with cal arts's weston bingham in our practice called open project.
